Hello from Lake Tahoe –

Posted on

I am writing you this week from one of the most beautiful places on earth, Lake Tahoe, California (this place is almost as pretty as Pawnee City, Nebraska). I am here attending a meeting of BCD Travel. Lake Tahoe is a forgotten alternative to Las Vegas –

Let’s face it, if you take away the neon signs of glitter gulch, Las Vegas would have a pretty boring landscape. An amazing alternative to Las Vegas is the beautiful mountain resort area of Lake Tahoe. Not only do you have gambling but also great food, amazing resorts, sailing, boating, fishing, hunting, birding, skating, hiking, golfing and the most amazing scenery. If you are getting tired of Las Vegas or want a more family friendly environment Lake Tahoe might be a great option. My friend Steve Neuman says Lake Tahoe reminds him of traveling to Switzerland.

Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe is one of the best in the west –

My meeting this week is being held at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe. Not only is this one of the best ski resorts in the winter but it is just as popular in the summer as the weather provides warm days and cool nights for a refreshing summer getaway. The staff, food and service here is top notch.

One of my biggest hotel pet peeves –

Is when my hotel key card does not open the room door and I have to walk all the way back down to the front desk for a new key card. Even at this 5 star resort little things can go wrong. Sure enough when I checked in and walked 5 minutes to my room the key card did not open my door. After the smoke stopped coming out of my ears I calmly walked down to the front desk and got a replacement key.
