“Three-Napkin Thank-You”

Today, I’m excited to share something that means a lot to me personally — our new “Three-Napkin Thank-You” initiative. Every Thanksgiving, millions of us travel to be with the people we love. And every year, thousands of dedicated travel professionals spend the holiday working so that can happen.

I’ve always believed gratitude is one of the most powerful gifts we can give. So this Thanksgiving, I’m asking travelers across the country to join me in offering a simple, sincere gesture of thanks to the people who make our holiday journeys possible.

A Small Gesture That Speaks Volumes

Here’s what I’m inviting you to do:

before you head to the airport — or while grabbing a coffee along the way — pick up three napkins.

On each one, write a short message like:

“Thank you for working today so I can sit around the Thanksgiving table with my family. I truly appreciate you.”

Then hand them to three people who are serving travelers this holiday:

  • A TSA officer
  • A gate agent or flight crew member
  • A hotel or car rental employee

It’s simple, it’s quick, and it’s a heartfelt reminder that what they do matters.

Why This Matters to Me

Too often, we walk past the men and women who keep our travel world running — the people who miss their own Thanksgiving dinners so we can make ours. This year, I want us to change that.

A napkin may seem small, but the message on it carries the spirit of the Thanksgiving table — a moment of connection, kindness, and gratitude.

A Nationwide Call to Kindness

My hope is that this Three-Napkin Thank-You spreads through airports and hotels across the country. Imagine what a difference it could make if thousands of travelers took one minute to acknowledge the people serving them during the busiest, most stressful travel week of the year.

This isn’t about spending money. It’s about giving thanks.

A napkin. A pen. A few sincere words.

That’s all it takes to brighten someone’s day — and maybe even remind us all what this holiday is truly about.

A Final Thought Before You Travel.

As we head into one of the busiest travel weeks of the year, the two best things you can bring with you are patience and a smile with an attitude of Thanksgiving. Remember that the people serving you—in airports, on airplanes, and in hotels—are giving up time with their families so they can take care of you and yours. A little kindness and gratitude go a very long way, especially during the holidays.
