Denver’s airport adopts touchless security lanes
Denver is the 14th U.S. airport to offer TSA PreCheck Touchless ID lanes. Touchless lanes are now available at the airport’s East and West security checkpoints for PreCheck flyers on Alaska, American, Delta, and United who have opted in ahead of time with their airline. In Touchless ID lanes, flyers are able to go hands-free through the checkpoint, pausing only briefly for a photo that is biometrically verified against passport or driver’s license images. Read More…
WASHINGTON — The Department of Homeland Security announced an expansion of Transportation Security Administration checkpoints for families traveling with children and military members on Thursday.TSA will add a dedicated family lane at security checkpoints under a program called “Families on the Fly,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced at a press conference at Nashville International Airport. Southwest Airlines, once known for its first-come, first-served approach to boarding and seating, on Tuesday began selling its first tickets with assigned seats. That change — and with it, new boarding groups — goes into effect for flights in late January. The move brings Southwest more in line with other major carriers, where travelers need to weigh the value of paying for an early-boarding upgrade. “The number one reason to buy the early boarding upgrade is if you have a carry-on for the overhead bin,” said Sara Wilcox, an advisor at Fora Travel, a travel agency in New York City.
